six week speech story workshop - Santa Cruz County 2023-24
Workshops are offered to 5th graders in groups of 12. The program includes 6 weekly Sessions that are designed to give each student a growing sense of confidence as they present to their peers stories about themselves and two prepared 3-4 minute speeches. The 75-minute meetings are run by the students who each take turns in the various roles and follow a prescribed Agenda. The SpeechStory Coordinator offers a different skills lesson each session, as well as guided group speech evaluations.

additional week 7 - preparation for april, 2024 contest
The anticipation of participating in the SpeechStory Contest adds extra excitement to the Workshop and focus for the students. Each group of 12 students is divided in Speech teams that work together to write speeches, perfect the delivery and prepare their chosen speakers to represent their school. The SpeechStory Coordinator will offer specific speech coaching in a 7th-week contest preparatory session.
